What he means to me by Shelby - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

Quotes have always be my favorite things to look back to when it comes to everyday problems or just getting through itself. My favorite kind of quotes come from people I strongly look up to and my favorite music artists. These quotes are what really get to me and motivate me the most. This year I am a senior and I’ve had to think really hard to decide what quote really represents me. The quote I have chosen is from Mac Miller’s Album ‘Best Day Ever’. “No matter where life takes me, you’ll find me with a smile. Presumed to be happy, always laughing like a child.” Mac Miller has always be my one of my favorite artist since I was a child. I remember hearing his music from my brother room and I loved it. To me Mac was a wise man full of life. It was heartbreaking to hear the news that we had lost him.
Throughout my childhood I never had a stable influence rather than my older brother who wasn't very much older than me. Music has always spoke to me and growing up Mac Miller was one I truly loved and had great influence on me . I chose this quote from this album because even though growing up isn’t always easy it’s ok to smile through it. This quote I believe says alot about myself because my life hasn’t always been easy but I enjoy a smile or making people smile. Picking my head up when it gets rough and smiling has always been my rock to living and pursuing into my dreams. I appreciate every rough patch and the smile I see to come with it.
