The God of War by Shania - April 2014 Scholarship Essay

Acheron, a god of war from the book "Acheron" by Sherrilyn Kenyon is the most influential character of any book I have ever read. He is over eleven thousand years old and has seen devils that would make an average person hurl and has been through things that would make grown man shake in his boots. Raised up as a Greek sex slave and later realized he is the son of the Goddess of War, Apollmi, no matter how cruel the world treats him, he still wants to save the world from evil. He lives to defeat the evil that haunts the world. He treats his "family" with respect even though they have don't nothing more then despise him and hate him for what he was.

Despite all his trials and tribulations, he pushes on to make himself a better person. He eventually lets himself trust another person and falls in love. He got exactly what he deserves when she treats him the way he should be treated. The fates even tested him by almost taking her away from him in a wave of anger but he bounced right back and pushed on with love and care. He is truly an inspirational character. He is the good that I want the whole world to be.
