Making the Most by Sara - April 2021 Scholarship Essay

This question is often asked to seniors. Many ponder how to answer. Others respond with how they would change their lives in some way. Some might have explained how they would teach them a lesson from a situation in the future. Five years ago, I would tell myself that you have to make the most of every situation.
No matter what life throws at someone, they make it work to help them. Every situation leads them closer to their goal or lets them learn a lesson. These lesson are important to not only learn, but understand. This brings an individual closer to their end goal. Life has many ups and downs. It brings people what they want and what they don’t want. It forms people into the person they currently are and the person they soon will become. Life hits everyone in different ways. The way a person reacts to these situations forms the path an individual will take. If someone gives up after hitting a down will lead them to a pathway that will lead to giving up even more. If someone doesn’t listen to others around them, it will lead them to a pathway of not listening to others more. These affects have their own effects on a person’s life.
So no matter what, make the most of every situation. Life keeps going no matter what you do. A person only has one life to live right now, so make the most of it. Spend life learning from others. Spend life being kind and caring. Spend life giving. Spend life educating and guiding. Spend life not only making yourself better, but others. Give complements freely and smiles often. Smile and greet those you might not know. Make others feel welcomed. Say kind things not only to others faces but behind closed doors. Be the person that works the hardest on a project or their job. Be the person others can depend on. Be the person others come to for advice. Be the person that loves yourself.

This is what I would tell myself five years ago from now. It’s not specific, it’s not too personal. I just want myself to live life and make the most of each and every situation.
