The Importance of College by Sara - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
Attending college is preparing yourself for life; college teaches you how to manage your time and money. College is hard but doable, and that’s why you should attend college because when you make it through something difficult, all the other things seem so much easier and at the end of the day you’ll be proud of yourself for working hard and making it through the day.
College also helps you find yourself and your purpose. All the courses that you take is getting you closer to knowing what you want to do in life. Like if you take a psychology course and you don’t like it then you figured out that psychology isn’t for you and you can try something else. And if you take a law course and you enjoy it, then you’re a step closer to your future job. There’s way more things to try out in college than in high school, so have more opportunity to really see what you like and what you don’t.
In addition, college is an overall great experience. You get to meet many people, you can join clubs and have a fun time in them, you can even explore your new surroundings if you choose to go to a college that’s not near your home, college can just give you many great memories. All these amazing memories can help you live a happier life.
And why most people go to college: to get a great, steady job with a good pay. For example, if you want to be a doctor, which they get paid pretty well, you need a college degree; if you want to be a lawyer, you need a college degree; if you want to be a teacher, you need a college degree. A lot of good jobs require a college degree. Yeah you don’t need a college degree to be a model, but if you think about it, how likely would you actually be to be a successful model, not very likely; the chances are very small no matter how pretty you are or how slim you are or how natural you can pose for pictures. And the modeling world is very competitive and you can be number one at the moment but the next day everybody can forget about you and move on to someone else.
In conclusion, college is an essential for preparing yourself for life, finding yourself, making memorial memories, and getting a good job. At the end of the day, there’s no harm in going to college, college in fact can lead you to a great future.
