Resilient in Time by Sabrina - February 2021 Scholarship Essay

Success comes from within. Your work ethic, putting in the late nights and early morning study hours. Trying your absolute hardest to achieve the best grades you can possibly earn. Success in my eyes is waking up to a stable job with a steady income and still using that work ethic from grad school to attain your own personal goals. When that fire is burning inside it is very hard to stop someone. I was taught at a young age that when you put the work in, success will come around, it may take some time but it will always come around because you are in control of your own destiny. Do you want to become a film director or own a restaurant that you believe is possible can come true. The formula for success is time+hard work=success.
Success to me in college is to finish Community College in two years and transfer to a four year university. If I can get accepted into the Honors program at my Community College, I know that I am being successful. Juggling a job, school, and spending time with my family and being able to balance it all is important to me. Having balance in life signifies the drive I have to achieve my goals. Being a girl who has always had to work for everything that I wanted taught me how valuable it is to be successful.
Many people cannot say that they came from not knowing a single thing in yearbook to becoming Editor-In-Chief a year later, many people cannot say that they came from a debilitating injury to the knee that left me not playing soccer for almost eight months, in and out of physical therapy, had trauma returning to the soccer field, made a comeback and is now stronger than ever. I am a self built leader and can overcome any obstacle that is in my way, I believe success is in the eye of the beholder and once you have it grasped nothing can stop you.
