Why not study abroad? Studying abroad allows students to get a better understanding on different types of cultures which allows students to enhance an opportunity to experience a different cultural background. It goes beyond the borders of just visiting a different country, but it allows students to view other cultures in a different perspective, whether is by language skills, education or willingness to learn. It does not just benefit you as a student, but also as a nation.
Studying abroad is a great opportunity that college student should take advantage of, because it is a one time life experience that perhaps is not going to be offered again. Students get the opportunity to experience a different cultural backgrounds and share new experiences. You get the opportunity to walk a mile in their shoes and experiences their world. Studying abroad will benefit your career by experiencing and having knowledge of other countries. As well as getting knowledge it will look great in a job resume. The employer could see that you study abroad and it will be a benefit for you, because that would be an advantage that you could have from other employees.
Other viewpoints may disagree arguing that studying abroad is just a waste of time and money. That you can know about other countries by reading a book or simply hearing about it in class. Yes, reading books may be an option to get knowledge of other countries, but it is not the same than living the experience. You may read information in books, but it is not the same as getting the opportunity to share your ideas and hear about others physically. Sitting in the classroom listening to the teacher is not the same as hopping on to an elephant in India and hearing what a distinctive culture it is from ours.
America is known as a diverse country that is full of different cultures and customs. As well as being diverse country it is also a country that is viewed differently by others. Other people around the world that do not have the knowledge have a different perspective of America as being a nation where they want power, which it is not like that. Other people from around the world view Americans as being cruel and counterfeit. By studying abroad you can share information to others and discover their perspectives about us. By studying abroad we get an understanding of each other's cultures and void world conflict.
Culture is what make each of us unique and why not share each other's cultures by studying abroad and get to adventure other cultures? Imagine a world with borders where you were only allowed to travel within your country. We would not get the opportunity to learn about others and share ideas to better each other's country.
