I Can Do Anything That I Put My MInd Too by Rachel - August 2022 Scholarship Essay

My academic goal for the upcoming year is to finish my last three classes so, I can transfer. I have been having a hard time passing math which is slowing me down. I went to school for culinary arts to become a pastry chef. I was taking 18 units each semester. I finish the baking program in less than two years. I was taking my general classes as well. I went to school part-time when I start working two jobs. When covid happen I went back to school full-time to finish. I am stuck on math. This summer I am taking boot camp classes to help me pass my math class. I feel with taking these classes this summer is to improve my math skills. I plan to finish my three classes this year. If I can not do it this year I plan to finish the following year. I plan to give up since I fail math three times. I figure that this was not going to happen. I look back on how long I came to school. I spend 40 hours or more at school every day before I wanted to finish. I woke up around 4:30 am every day to get to school by 6:30 am. When I was done with my classes, I would go to the library to work on homework. I got all the extra help I needed to pass my classes. I know that it is not the time to quit with only three classes to finish. There were many times during the baking journey I wanted to throw in the towel. I knew this was something that I wanted so bad therefore I continue to push through. I didn't do it alone God carry me through it all. I did not know how I was going to make it. I am going to push the same mindset I have during this journey into my goal in this upcoming year. I know with my finishing I can get some more done in my life. I know I can do anything that I set my mind to. I know I came too far with taking all these classes not to finish what I started. I do not care how many times I have to take math. I am not giving up until I can transfer. I also want to go to nursing school so therefore I know I have my work cut out for me. I was very proud to finish the baking program in less than two years. I know I will be proud of myself when I reach my goals.
