If I was to start a non profit organization I would make one towards people with cancer, this organization would benefit family's and patients going through any form of cancer. I would want it to be towards this because, I myself has had a family member who was lost due to cancer; it was my grandmother.
Losing her was one of the hardest life obstacle to over come. She was diagnosed with a terminal and aggressive type of lung cancer, which she was the 4th patient to be diagnosed in Salem. The doctors told us she would live for years and that she would slowly lose herself over time, but they were wrong. She lived for one year and 6 months after being diagnosed. After 1 year of having cancer she had a stroke. She lost her modality all on her left side, from her head all the way down to her toes. Not long after her stroke we lost her on July 26, 2017. I'd always hoped that in her last days I would be a grow up, have kids of my own, and be living an amazing life, while still have her be my side all the way. That she would be able to see all the accomplishments I've made. I never thought that she would be constantly suffering the last few mouths of her life. I felt lied to and I felt robbed that best person in the world was taken away from me in the most painful way, for both her and her family. This painful life experience is the reason why I would create a non profit organization to benefit cancer patients and their families, not just one type but all types and all ages of patients. I would want to make a organization to help the people going through these horrible times, for they didn't have to go through the same thing I did.
