High School Accomplishments by Patricia - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

High school, a place you'll either love or hate. Its really what you make it to be. My high school experience has been filled with not only fun and laughter but also a lifetime of education as well. You could easily say a high accomplishment is graduating itself, or winning first in an event, etc. But a high school accomplishment that I myself is most proud of would have to be my grades.

Most students would be okay with the letter grade D, because at least its passing, but no not me. I was a little harder on myself. Anything lower than the letter grade A- or B+ I thought I was failing. That was until Jr. year of high school, that is when the real stress started to come. I was so hard on myself, it not only created tons of stress but also lack of sleep. You may be thinking, why on earth would she do that to herself? Well, because in my mind I always want to be improving, and increasing my knowledge was one thing but actually understanding what my teachers were saying was another. I am more than proud to say "Yes I am a member of the National Honors Society" and "Yes I'm freaking out about a word A-, why? Well because I know I can do better if I try harder". And that's what it comes down to. If you want something go out and get it, prove your more than worth it. Be proud of what you have done, your accomplishments especially. I can successfully say with confidence I have an accumulated GPA of a 3.89, but that doesn't mean I'm a nerd, it means I am dedicated and hardworking, and if I want something, I'm going to do everything I can to achieve my goal.
