The Real Benefits by Parker - October 2024 Scholarship Essay

When entering college, you have the ultimate goal of leaving with a degree and getting a job afterward. But, despite this, there are many other benefits that you may gain from going through the 2-8+ years. Through the hardships that you may face, the deadlines that you have for the numerous assignments that you receive, to the fact that you most likely will not have the help from a teacher that you may have had in high school, you are able to learn senses of self-accomplishment, urgency for getting things done, self-dependency, and many other things.
Using not only the knowledge from your degree that you have earned, but also the many lessons that are there to be learned throughout the experience of getting a degree, you are much more likely to go far in life and be successful than someone who does not have a college degree. Additionally, getting a college degree can benefit you in the long run career-wise. People who put in the work at a college or university and get a degree are more likely to get jobs due to the ability to get internships while still in school and have a degree that tells jobs that you are a good employee, both things that someone who hasn’t gone to college will not have.
