A Positive Future by Pablo - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

The future is bright. I have always had that outlook. I wake up every day with an urge to be better than the day before. Why do I live this way? Because whether I go through life negatively or positively, life will still go on. That’s why I choose positivity. I thought this way 10 years ago, I think this way today, and I will think the same way 10 years from now. I especially believe this now that I am a young adult and a contributing part of society.
In the past 5 years I have opened up 2 businesses, volunteered hundreds of hours and traveled the world. Through my entrepreneurship I’ve learned so much about human interaction and customer service. In my many hours spent volunteering I have met many great people and been able to help them in many different ways. Throughout my travels I have also met many people, but I most importantly got to know myself. Through these 5 years I learned through trial and error who I am and how I want to help in this world.
10 years from now I see myself exactly where I want to be. I see myself as a business owner of multiple profit and non-profit organizations. I see myself as a leader in my community helping businesses thrive and push for people to shop local to support their communities’ big and small businesses. I also see myself as a mentor to many new business owners and young people everywhere. Providing information and help where it is needed.
The only way I see myself getting to these positions is by expanding my knowledge. I firmly believe that all my hands on experiences in real world situations have given me a lot of insight that I would not have learned any other way. I also believe that without furthering my education, I will stay stagnant and in the business world that is the worst position to be in. I truly need my education to further my knowledge in the business world and work on my personal growth. I have learned so much during my years in school so far, I am very excited for what comes next!
