Addiction to Procrastination by Megan - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

Most college students suffer from the same condition. I am one of those many. We suffer from our own addiction to procrastination. For us, after class each day, we enjoy heading home and doing anything but homework. When we have an essay due, we can always get it done the night before it is due. We have mastered the art of calculating the last possible minute that we can start an assignment and still get it done in time for class.
Procrastination causes too much avoidable stress. This stress made my first semester of college a living hell to the point where I would have a few breakdowns a week. The experience of this overwhelming stress has made me want to change. This is why my New Years Resolution is to not procrastinate and to do my work before the last day possible.
Unlike my New Years Resolutions from previous years, I will stick to this plan. I need to stick to this plan. I barely made it through taking 15 credits last semester. Something needs to change with my plan to take 18 credits this upcoming semester.
For all my fellow procrastinators out there, I suggest that we all proceed with this resolution and stop this addiction to our condition. We can all take a step forward to stop all of our unnecessary and preventable stress and better ourselves in our education.
