The one word I have chosen is “expansion”. The word expansion can be defined as a thing formed by broadening, growth, or an increase in development. Most examples of expansion revolve the physical sense. These include territorial, economic and space. However, the word can be used to define the filling of void as well.
I have worked in HealthCare Information Technology field for some years now. While the experience provided me the skillset to perform my job, I did not receive the education on paper. Unlike many, my career course provided me “on the job training” before a college education. This left me with some missing gaps in my knowledge. Most acquire the degree and then pursue job opportunities within the field they have chosen.
Attending college will fill in those missing gaps through learning and education. These missing gaps will provide me the knowledge to better understand and convey within my work place. Additionally, having a valid college degree only furthers my career opportunities, and validates my knowledge and understanding within the field.
In summary, college will provide me the education and missing elements not found within the work force. The word expansion encompasses this idea of increasing my knowledge while expanding my opportunities.
