One Team, One Family by Mason - November 2016 Scholarship Essay

While attending Lebanon Valley College Next year the thing I will be most thankful for getting the experience to play lacrosse at the collegiate level.While college offers many great experiences for students such as studying abroad, creating new friends, and learning to live an independent life away from ones parents lacrosse offers me not just a team to play on but a family full of brothers to rely on. Playing on team sports has always made me feel welcome and given me a group of guys that i can constantly count on to create a fantastic college experience that I will be thankful for.
Moving off to college especially when it happens to be across the country is never truly easy yet knowing when you arrive there is a family full of lacrosse teammates waiting to embrace with open arms makes the task quite exciting. On the overnight visit I went on as part of my recruitment experience one of the best parts was the team interaction and how friendly they were even when it wasn't guaranteed that I would be attending their school next year. I could sense their support for one another no matter the kid or years they've known one another. Upon reviewing my offer to play there next year the coach told how big of a support I got from the players after I left the visit. Playing collegiate lacrosse has always been a dream of mine and therefore will be an experience I will be the most thankful for.
Attending a college where there will be a good support group for me was something very important in my college search. Having a good group of close friends such as that of my team is ultimately going to make my college experience great and I hope that when I look back on it will be one I'm extremely thankful that I took full advantage of. The experience awaiting me is huge and now I am counting down the days till I embark on this journey with a group of brothers around my side.
