My Dream College that I Want to Attend by Marissa - August 2020 Scholarship Essay

Wherever I choose to go to college at, one thing that is very important to me that I consider is the religion a college has. I’m a Christian and I want to attend a Christian college because I want to walk my faith in my relationship with Jesus. Walking my faith out is important to me because I want to continue to become a stronger person through faith and my beliefs that I believe. I would rather go to a Christian college instead of a college that doesn’t care about religion because then it would probably lead me to make bad decisions that will affect me for the rest of my life. I would rather not go on that road and instead would surround myself with positive people that have the same beliefs as me.

I want to be a math teacher and I would take an education program. In this program, I don’t want to just learn what I need to know to be a teacher, but I want to learn what I should do to teach students to be kind in the classroom or wherever they are. There are so many people today that are not kind to others and that breaks my heart. There are always people that are struggling and nobody realizes that unless they ask with kindness. The education program that I would be in would have students including me to go to different schools in the area and observe and see similarities and differences that every teacher does as they teach students in the classroom. I would definitely like to observe what a Christian classroom and a Non-Christian classroom looks like because those two can be very different to each other. The more I experience how teachers teach, the more opportunities I will have until I make a final decision to teach middle or high school math.

I know that my dream college, I will have so many experiences to explore and figure out what will be best for me. I hope that maybe someday this will become a reality for me when I go to college if it’s meant to be!!!
