future or a dream by maria - December 2015 Scholarship Essay
Everyone has a different view of how they may see themselves in ten years. Some may see themselves rich with a huge house and the car of their dreams and other have different thoughts. Well we can’t really tell the future but we can have goals and reason to believe that one day we will see ourselves the way we picture the future to be.
I have two ideas of how I may see myself in 10 years.. The first one is being a student in medical school studying to become a Radiologist. I’m not planning on getting married at an early age, since that would take away some of my fun and I would be way too focused on my career. The second future I see for myself is being a Financial Analyst at a bank and helping my clients figure out who their consumers are, what those consumers want and how much they’ll pay for what they want. I’ve always enjoyed helping others and math is one of my strongest skills. I’m having a hard time deciding on what to study so I don’t really have a decision, just thoughts and dreams. I want to be extremely successful with the career I choose in life, I want to succeed in my dream and actually make it come true. I am uncertain about my goals. I do not know what I want to do exactly, all I know is that I want to be outstanding. My number one goal is to make my parents proud of me. They have sacrificed so much for me and now it’s my turn to prove to them that in order to succeed we must believe we can. One of my favorite quotes is from Confucius.. “The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential... these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence”. It makes so much sense and motivates me to believe that even though we don’t know what the future holds for us, I know that I have to lead the path. At seventeen years old I see life as an opportunity to give something of yourself to others, and to be remembered and known for what you gave. Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet the aspect remains the same.
