What I Am Thankful For by Marcello - November 2020 Scholarship Essay
I am thankful for many aspects that drove me forward in my education, which gave me the skills to tackle heavy loads of work and how to organize for the future with proper planning. With being in a private school for elementary and middle school, in AVID class in high school, and in contact with peers from both high school and college, I am thankful for the educational support to pursue a career that gives back to my community, through the field of psychology.
I participated in a private school for 10 years, in St. Joseph's Elementary school in Utah. In it, I have been trained to always perform only the best and to be responsible for my work. With thanks to the demanding workload when I was there, I have been given the skills to be organized, skills when writing essays or research papers, how to work alongside my fellow peers, and how to manage my GPA and to earn straight A's. I have been lucky enough to have many wonderful people in the school who have inspired me to be the best and to continue to reach my academic goals. They have always had an impact on my motivation to continue onward and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
In high school, a life from going from a child to an adult is quite a unique and bizarre event. Meeting new people, learning new things, and preparing for adult life. Since I am now in college, the event ever grows more bizarre, as I tackle school and adulthood. In high school and college, I was lucky enough to meet so many individuals who were willing to support me in every aspect, and who wish to see me thrive and succeed at my goals. In the AVID class, I was taught how to write college papers, properly note-taking skills during lectures. They always offered assistance whenever I found myself in a rough patch, and always kept influencing me to combat the challenges I faced.
With inspiration and support from all that care for me and my satisfactory training from my schools, I will continue to strive further and to rigorously make the effort to be the best and to reach my academic goals. I am forever thankful for their support and for the skills they gave me to tackle college and my future.
