What is the most important lesson you've learned from a teacher? by Marcedes - July 2016 Scholarship Essay
In high school I have learned a lot from my teachers, I have put a lot into consideration and into perspective. They have taught me that I am strong mentally and that I am able to do anything I put my mind to. I am able to achieve my goals in life if I put in all the work that is needed. I would like to thank my animal care teacher, Dr. Tiffany Meyers. She has taught me courage and self-discipline. She has pushed me when I couldn't push myself anymore. When I stopped believing in myself she has gave me hope to keep going by writing me little inspirational messages, calling to check on me, and helping me with all of my classes.
I have learned tough love from my science teacher Mr. Rodrick Bell. He has shown me no mercy when it comes to having bad grades in his class and that’s when I learned that I have to step up, I have to make this count. I have to push myself even more for the A's that I want to have that I deserve to have. Yes, he would give us our missing work if we missed a day, but when everyone started missing 2 and 3 days over nothing, he started to get rough with us and explain that we can’t do the same thing in college because they really don’t care about we do because we are adults now. And of course I learned my lesson
