The Future by Maraya - April 2018 Scholarship Essay
#thefuture
The future, the unknown, the discoverable.
Education helps students determine their future. As a student athlete, sports always helped me stay on top of my academics. With both sports and academics on my side, my education has helped me get more and more opportunities to contact colleges and universities. These amazing opportunities -- and many more to come -- can help me shape my future. Other students shape their futures with academics and other extracurricular activities, which ever those might be. Those students can still get the opportunity to shape their future with their own certain skills and talents. Overall, education is a student’s future -- whether or not a student wants to attend college or not.
I chose this hashtag because throughout all my years in school, I always let test scores and other overrated numbers lower my belief of going to a four year university. Coming out of my junior year with my highest GPA, 3.8, changed that. I realized that certain classes will your strongest subjects, but not all. We all have our imperfections, but we also have our strengths. Weaknesses break students, but strengths grow students. Learning what your strengths are, in grade school, help frame your future and what you want to do in the next chapter of your life. Learning what your weaknesses are, in any time in your life, help grow your knowledge to grow as a person in the future.
