Bringing About Change As A Financial Risk Advisor by Madison - June 2020 Scholarship Essay
I believe that the most important job that a person can have is one that gives back to their community and impacts both them and others that they work with. I believe that I can do this in my intended career field as a financial risk advisor. Financial risk advisors give businesses advice on how to best run and successfully invest in other businesses or in the stock market. Through helping clients best manage their businesses, showing others in my career field that our job can be used as acts of service towards others, and that being a financial risk advisor is about establishing long term relationships with my clients, I hope to bring change.
Financial risk advisors help clients manage their businesses in the most efficient way. Being able to specialize in helping others succeed is what I see as one of the most valuable things that one can achieve. Successful businesses are vital to our economy because they lead to a more prosperous America. Helping businesses thrive is a way that can inspire others in my career field to do the same.
As a financial risk advisor, I would be able to show other financial risk advisors that our job can be used to serve others. It is important, especially in today’s world where everything seems to revolve around money, that one has a job that is not based on how much they will get paid at the end of the week, but one where they feel inspired each day that they leave work. The money is fleeting, but the opportunities that one has will always stay with them. Loving your job and feeling fulfilled is way more important than money. Being able to help companies that are in urgent financial trouble and helping them turn around so they can be successful is a way of giving to others. Not only will you help the company out, but the process will make you feel accomplished and successful. When a person does an act of service towards others, it builds strong relationships between those two people.
Being a financial risk advisor is more than just a job. It is about establishing relationships with clients that last a lifetime. These relationships are not surface level relationships, but ones that last outside of the workplace and are truly meaningful. The impact of helping clients maintain their businesses does not only affect the productivity of the business, but it also affects the business owner’s life. Long lasting relationships help you grow as a person. I believe that growth is essential to a successful career. By learning from your mistakes, you are able to become a better employee. It is important to make the best of the relationships that are around you. I hope to inspire fellow colleagues that by focusing on building relationships with clients, it will help them be more successful in their job. At the end of the day, even if the work day did not go as planned, it is the relationships that you have with others that are most important.
Because I believe that when we leave this world, it should be better than when we first entered it, one should begin to help make change using the opportunities that their career provides. By having a job that gives to others, one can truly make their mark on this world. And I believe that as a financial risk advisor I can do just that.
