Receive, Give to People in Need, and Repeat by Luis - May 2019 Scholarship Essay

The name of the title I chose is something that I dream of being able to do someday.
Growing up in my hometown in Woodburn it is easy to tell that there is a lot of kids in poverty and not getting the things that they need. By getting a 10,000 dollar grant I would be able to give back to the families in need. I would start off by buying 3,000 dollars worth of canned goods because we have done this a lot of times at school, and not a lot of people ever brought cans. By me bringing in that amount of cans and donating them to the community by myself I am hoping that I can start a trend for the younger kids in Woodburn. The next thing I would do is buy 4,000 dollars worth in kids clothing, and another 1,000 dollars worth in adult size clothing. The last thing I would use that money for is just everyday things such as paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. This isn’t something I am just saying because I want a scholarship. This is something that I will do someday, and when I do I hope to be able to put more than 10,000 dollars into my hometown. I'm hoping my success will allow me not to help out only my hometown, but being able to help out the people in need all around the county and the whole world. If I had a gazillion dollars man I would give money out to everyone in need no matter their race, gender, skin color, or beliefs. I know that it won’t be easy, and it will be a long road, but getting the 10,000 dollars right now would be a baby step in the direction I am going towards in changing the world.
