Pride, Satisfaction, and Preparedness by Keilani - February 2021 Scholarship Essay
Success is the accomplishment of a set goal and is mainly related to a feeling of satisfaction and joy. When I think of success in college or graduate school, I think of being prepared for the next step in life. Whether it is in a job that I'm actively involved, or one that I am interested in joining, going out of college or graduate school, knowing that I have succeeded in learning and becoming skillful for that job gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment.
College is a tool used to better prepare a student for whatever career field they choose. It allows the student to know what is involved in that job and guide them to have success in the future. Sometimes, a student may feel passionate about a career but doesn't feel qualified. Their job is to go into college and do their best to learn and understand all the criteria. Some may fail while others see it through to the end. The group that stayed strong will feel pride and satisfaction in the end because they worked hard to accomplish their goal.
Not only is pride and satisfaction a result of success in college or graduate school, but also preparedness for the next step in life. To be prepared means to be able to climb over any obstacle that stands in the way. College will provide tools and techniques to assess a situation and find the best solution.
Success in college or graduate school means having the feeling of pride, satisfaction, and preparedness. The student can then move forward in life, knowing that they have a strong educational foundation.
