Impossible by Kayla - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

My high school ceased senior quotes before I even entered high school, but that has never stopped anyone from considering their favorites. If I got the chance to choose, it would be Walt Disney's famous "It's kind of fun to do the impossible."

I shock people with my schedule; I have days where I'm at school for 14 hours. I go from the early band practice to school, school to golf, golf to color guard, color guard to theatre practice. Between all of those, I'm also in: Tri-M, Speech and Debate, National Honor Society, Robotics, Math Team, Future Business Leaders of America, Scholar Bowl, an officer for International Thespian Society, and in Future Community and Career Leaders of America. It sounds crazy, almost impossible, but I do it, every single day.

Guess what, it's kind of fun! Going from club to club to club (times three) gives me this undeniable and constant sense of accomplishment, it gives me something to do. More importantly, my willingness to be involved and the enjoyment I get from it has helped me in finding my niche at the school and improved the active voice I now have in my student and community affairs. In ten years I won't remember my grades or some paper I spent too much time stressing over, but I might just open my old yearbook and when I do I will be able to say that I didn't let anyone stop me from being involved everything and that I had fun doing the impossible.
