Arizona by Katelynn - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

5, 4, 3, 2, 1! After counting down to a new year I immediately made a new year’s resolution. This year I pledge to be extremely organized. Not only to be organized at school but to be organized at home. Being organized is a great way to be prepared for what might be heading my way.
In the 13 years I have been a student I’ve realized that being organized is key for success. The best organization for me is to have an accordion folder with enough sections for all my classes. When there is more than one folder I have to carry around not only does my backpack weigh a ton but they get lost easier. When I’m looking for an assignment from weeks ago it is much easier to find with good organization skills. Organization doesn’t just stop in my back pack though, it carries onto my workspace. My desk should be clean and easy to locate. An organized student is a great student.
When my room is disorganized, I feel disorganized. This plays a great role in my student life as well. I will add bins and folders in my room to keep it organized. I will make sure to have a clean space to get my work done. This keeps my work clean and it’s easier to concentrate in a clean area. This is the most efficient way to get work done. After a long day at school I have a place to do my homework. Also with an organized room it gives me a place to rest after a tiring day of being a student. An organized room is the perfect way to have a relaxing night. With a clean room I can have a productive life.
2016 is my year to make a change. In 2016 I pledge to be organized at school and at home. With graduation and college around the corner it is a perfect time to get into the habit of being organized. This is something that will stick with me throughout college and help me become the best student I can be.
