My Proudest Accomplishment by Kaitlyn - December 2016 Scholarship Essay
My name is Kaitlyn Taylor and I am from a small town in Southern New Jersey called Pennsville. I go to a high school with about five hundred students and most of them are involved in multiple diverse clubs throughout our high school. I personally have been involved in many clubs and sports throughout my last four years and they include; varsity girls' soccer, varsity indoor track, varsity outdoor track, student council, Tri-M musical honor society, multiple string ensembles, class of 2017 executive committee, and the local adopt a freshman program. Some of my proudest accomplishments consist of being inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society, delegated as the Captain of my soccer team, and being voted the Vice President of Tri-M musical honor society; however great these accomplishments are, they are not my most proud.
One of the most prestigious organizations to get accepted to is the National Honor Society; due to its rigorous requirements and high academic standards. I have had the privilege to be inducted into the Pennsville chapter of the National Honor Society this past week. I have to say, it is the proudest I have ever seen my parents. To be inducted I had to prove to the board that I firmly displayed leadership, service, and character within my last four years at PMHS. It is an extremely competitive selection process and I was ecstatic to hear that I got in! I would consider my induction into the National Honor Society my proudest school accomplishment because it is incredibly difficult to even be considered for membership and I went against the odds and conquered. It is a very respectable organization to be a part of and I am extremely proud to say that I am in it.
