Influence of My Life
There are many people who have impacted my life like my friends, teammates, siblings, and many more. But there is one person who has impacted me the most. That person is my mom. My mom is Karla Patzel. She is a fourth grade teacher at Newman Grove Nebraska. She has helped me with my education a lot. She helps me with my homework and she teaches me new life skills at home and at school.
My mom has always been someone who helps others with school work. She may have given me a lot of homework when I was in her class but she made the environment fun for learning. My mom doesn’t just teach out of the book. She made fun lessons and even made up a song to help my class remember our prepositions. She really helped extend my education even as a fourth grade. Karla has helped not only me but others. She takes time out of her personal day to help her students and non students with problems they may have. My mom helps me learn new things everyday. She teaches me new ways to remember something, new ways to do a math problem, and how to remember my grammar rulers. You may be saying you're a freshman and you should know these things. You're right, but sometimes I need a little help remembering. With the little help from my mom I help some of her fourth graders with their homework and I help them understand new things. Not only that I help my classmates understand what is going on in class and I can help them with the lessons they may have missed if they were gone. All because my mom helped me with my education as a fourth grader and now as a freshman.
Not only does my mom help me at school but she also helps me at home. She teaches me new life skills. She wants to see me succeed in life. She makes me help my dad with animal chores and makes me work outside but that is what makes me me. Making me help my dad with chores has helped me learn nature skills. These skills have helped me understand what to do when I am in nature and it makes me feel safe. When I am outside with my dad or my mom they teach me numerous things. I learn how to take care of animals, how to identify plants, and most importantly I learn problem solving skills. How do I learn problem solving skills while being outside? Well I live on a farm with many animals living around it. Oftentimes I have to fix the fence and solve how I am going to do it so the cows or whatever animal you have won’t get out. There are many other things I have to do as well. Not many people know that you can learn a lot on a farm. And my mom has demonstrated that to me and her other children very well. My mom didn’t grow up on a farm but she had to learn how to do many things. My dad helped her and my mom helped me learn them. Living on this farm has taught me many things and I use these skills to help me understand these things in school. Common things on a farm have helped me understand things in school because it helps me make real life connections. My mom is a really important person in my life and she loves helping me. That is why my mom has influenced me and helped me grow my education.
