Doomed To Prosperity by Judith - April 2019 Scholarship Essay
In many ways starting high school is of stepping stone of soon to be young adulthood. As a new up and coming young adult, I have confronted and struggled with academic challenges that I thought that I would never face. Thinking that high school it would be another stepping stone in life that I could easily pass by. But in my new school, it was n’t the case. Though out the eight years of elementary/middle school it was no question to receive the easy A for me.
School took a punch at my gut. Your perfect straight-A student soon came crumbling down to raining C’s. It would soon then take a hit in my entire freshman class. In fact, my counselors were so disturbed that in my class itself that 1 out of every 3 students would have more than two F’s during the first semester. Of course, any knowledgeable person would than perceiver and work hard nevertheless not for me.
Instead of being knowledgeable I became distraught wondering why I couldn’t achieve the same success as I do those eight years ago. Preferring to cry about rather than doing anything about it. That was the problem I didn’t do anything about it. The academic problem that I encountered was not doing anything about it. Me now comprehending the big picture of it all I had to do something. That I had to make an effort and realize that this failure would soon come to an end. It was time to stop crying and start to get my head into the game.
I would then study day and night knowing that this would lead to that beautiful A that I was so fond of. My straight C’s soon became straight A’s. Thanks to the help of many sources in school like LinkCrew, AVID tutors, staying after school with my teachers, and of course Varsity Tutors. Hopefully, this will still continue on for the next three years of high school and for my dream University because I overcame this academic problem.
