Should all college students be required to study abroad? Why or why not?

Studying abroad is a great way to grow skills, help emphasize on intercultural communication, and great experience. Getting involved in an international placement program gives students to open up in a new world that will help develop both strengths and identify what students are capable of. College students should be required to study abroad because it will help them experience new cultures and languages, standout in the workforce, and open new opportunities.

Studying abroad will give college students the option to study anywhere in the world while learning new cultures and languages in that country. This will help students try something different and get them out of their comfort zone. It's a great opportunity for students to be able to interact with people in that country. Not just that but the food, language and the culture of these people. Students will be able to grow in skills and themselves when they are able to study abroad. Also this will be a great way to standout from everyone back home.

With a study abroad experience, students will be able to out beat any competitors in the workforce. Regardless of any job experience, employees often have little to no experience in different languages which gives those who speak it and write it fluently a great advantage. It’s not just the communication that helps students standout but being able to learn different things like currency for those who major in business and new diseases/medicines for those in the medical field. These skills that are built while learning in a new country also gives the student different opportunities.

As college students develop and strengthen their skills out in different countries, they have several opportunities open to them. These opportunities often are being able to work in that country whether its for a big corporation or hospital. Also students if students go back to their hometown to work, they are able to be promoted way quicker than those who haven’t been studying abroad in the workforce. Other opportunities are be able to live in the country they studied at and become a citizen.

College students should be required to study abroad because it’s a great opportunity to be studying somewhere while learning about a different environment. It will help build relations with others around the globe and help the student have to work internationally. Also it would be good to travel and try new things around the world.
