Neonatal Nurse by jessica - December 2015 Scholarship Essay
In ten years I see myself as a Neonatal Nurse. After I graduate High School this Spring, I am going to attend Truman State University to further my education in Nursing. Ever since I was a young girl I have always had the desire to help individuals. My freshman year of highschool I realized I wanted to become a neonatal nurse because of my strong love for children. To help me get closer to achieving my goal of becoming a nurse. I have taken many classes, and have been involved in many activities to further my education.
I have taken many colleges classes throughout my High School career, but I have noticed that I have been extremely involved, and anxious to know more in the classes that have to do with the human body. The classes I have taken are: Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, Medical Terminology, Principles of Biomedical Science, and Health careers. Health Careers was one of my favorite classes that helped me decide if I really wanted to pursue in nursing. As a class we had clinical hours at a nursing home. I absolutely loved this environment. I had always thought I just wanted to work with children, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed serving the elderly. I enjoyed every minute and could not wait for the opportunity to assist one of the residents. After spending 100 clinical hours at the nursing home I was presented and awarded my C.N.A. Now I currently work at a nursing home learning something new everyday. To get more experience, and knowledge about the medical field I also began volunteering at the hospital. I am ER, and Unit Host trained. I love being around patients even if I am limited to what I can do.
