At 43 by Jessica - September 2018 Scholarship Essay
It will be that time of the year when the clouds are soaring in the sky, and the trees are gently swaying from side to side, when the colorful flowers begin to bloom, the bees are in search of sweet nectar, and the whole earth is in rebirth, that will be the time I’m in 25 years. At the age of 43, I will be sitting outside, watching the sun set, watching that last burst of crimson red and fiery orange. I will smile as I wait for that day to finish and another emerge.
Still, at 43, I will continue to learn about what life is meant to be. By keeping a positive attitude and seeking new adventures, I will continue to learn. I don’t know what knowledge I will have acquired in those years of my life, but I am sure that in each step of the way there will be people and places that will teach me, and I will show people what has been taught to me. No matter how small the information is, it might be as small as a grain of sand, but it will create yet another neural pathway. My brain will have developed an intricate web of endless connections.
It is so hard to picture exactly what I will be learning, but the important thing is that I will be learning, plus I think learning is unavoidable. I believe the more one absorbs, the more questions arise, and the curiosity to find answers becomes inevitable.
This is how I will discover new beginnings and understand old ones. This is how I see myself in 25 years, at 43.
