What aspect of my education and I the most thankful for? by Heather - November 2020 Scholarship Essay

The aspect I am most thankful for would have to be all the experiences school has given me throughout the years. As a senior this year looking back, I have done things that I never would have dreamed of doing. Hands down my best experience would be participating in donkey basketball when I was a junior. I would have never imagined riding a donkey in the middle of the gym in front of the whole school and community, but I am sure glad I gave it the chance. Because of my education at school it has opened up so many opportunities for me to pursue music, which is a big passion of mine. I have gone to musicals, I am going to be in a musical myself, and I sing solos and duets all the time for various occasions. But my proudest moment was getting a superior on a duet with my sister at a regional vocal contest last February.

I have always been somewhat of a shy and nervous person my whole life, but all of the experiences I have done throughout the years really helped mold me into the person I am today. One drastic difference is that I look at life differently. I am more brave, more confident, and not nearly as nervous as I used to be. You can’t live your life in fear or worrying about things, you just need to give it a try. The experiences that my education has given me I will forever be thankful for.
