MOM DOCTOR WITH HOBBIES by Gretchen - September 2018 Scholarship Essay

In 25 years I will be 42 years old. I hope by then I will have become a mother, have an established career as a physician/surgeon and own a nice cozy home.
Life is a journey of continual learning and with that comes trials and errors, failures, successes and realizations. As a mother, I will learn more about myself as a person since I think having a child will force me to look at myself more closely. I will learn how to care deeply for another human being that is my sole responsibility. I hope I will learn patience and the value of sacrifice.
As a physician/surgeon, I will continue to learn as I meet each individual patient and their families. I will take continuing education courses so I can keep up with new developments in my field.
I would like to learn how to design my home and make it super comfortable and open.
Beyond being a mother with a career, I hope to continue to learn to develop myself for example my hobbies. I want to learn as much as I can about many things. I see myself perhaps starting a business, going skydiving, traveling, learning about food from different cultures, and making my own clothes.
