Accomplishments and beyond by Geana - December 2016 Scholarship Essay
I have had many accomplishments through out my high school career. Ranging from athletics to academics. But one accomplishment that I am most proud of is becoming a National Honor Society member. I have struggled throughout my schooling. I suffer from severe anxiety, ADHD and was a late diagnosed of the Austism Spectrum Disorder. It has been hard to face everyday life, getting through school on a regular basis, and just being able to live comfortably. Everyday I get up and have to face my fears, my anxiety and decide will I make it through the day. So dealing with all of that, I am still able to maintain a 4.0 and be inducted to the National Honors Society.
Being inducted into the NHS we had to complete many tasks. One of the tasks was to complete a leadership project, and a service project. We also had to complete thirty-five community service hours. For my leadership project I ran a kids softball camp. We went through drills, games and maintained motivation throughout the camp. As for my service project, I set up a video, toys, and craft drive. With this we collected over sixty videos, many toys and a variety of crafts. I then delivered these to our local Children's Hospital. So by completing all of these projects, community service hours, and maintaining a 4.0 I am a part of the NHS community. This by far is my proudest accomplishment especially after what I have dealt with throughout my life.
