Achieving a 5 on my AP Psychology exam gave me the serotonin boost I was craving. It wasn't my first time getting a 5 on an AP exam, but since I fell in love with the field of psychology because of the AP Psychology course, I felt as if it was a requirement to get the best score possible. I had never felt so proud of a score in my life; all of my hard work throughout the school year finally paid off for just one result. However, this result can influence the rest of my educational career, which is why it was so important for me to do as well as possible.
My future goal is to become a psychiatrist, starting out in general studies and then specializing in a field in which I have not fully decided yet. Obtaining a 5 does not mean that someone has to major in that subject, but since I already love psychology, it confirms that I have the background knowledge necessary to move forward. In other words, I will be able to have a headstart when entering university. Being able to skip over the introductory course of psychology will provide me with more opportunities to explore the major and fall in love with the exact field I plan to enter.
It's hard to predict what the future has in store for me, but knowing that I conquered the hardest part of the introductory course gives me confidence that I can succeed in the major I've decided on. There's no denying that it will only get more difficult from here, but it's a start to the life that I am already set on living. For all of my doubts, I can count on this achievement to provide me with light at the end of the tunnel.
