My School Accomplishment by Euresia - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

My school accomplishment that I am most proud of is being able to start for my varsity basketball team. It has taken me three years to be able to say that I am a starter for my team. I will tell you why this is a proud moment for me, my journey and also explain the time and work that was put into this accomplishment.
First, this is a proud moment because it feels amazing to be a senior and be able to start and give your team the fuel the beginning of the game needs. This is a feeling that I have been waiting to achieve for many of years. High School basketball is not an easy thing to be apart of. Basketball in general comes with a lot of pressure that sometimes may be hard to handle. You can easily lose your starting spot if you do not continue to work hard enough.
Next, is the journey that I took to get to where I am today. My freshman year I could hardly dribble a ball and now I am almost an all-around player. My sophomore year I was not completely on varsity and junior year I was strictly varsity. Even though I was strictly varsity I still did not start because I was not ready. During these years I had to work harder than everyone on the team.
Finally, the work that I showed during practice also helped me to accomplish this goal. My coach has three rules which are: be coach able, be a team player and be the hardest worker. I did those three rules with excellence and at 110%. I knew how hard it was for me to get where I wanted to be and I had to set my mind on it to get it done.
In conclusion, with that being said I am very proud of myself for accomplishing my goal and working to be the best. Although I am not done continuing to grow I am still very excited for my final year. My plan for this year will b to be full of energy, growth and hard work.
