Dear Selection Committee,

My name is Ethan Elizondo, a rising high school senior, aspiring to major in Marketing at the California Baptist University. Driven by an unsettled spirit and a desire to create lasting impact in my community, I am writing to apply for the Varsity Tutors College Scholarship Contest. This scholarship would provide me with the financial support I need to focus on my studies, ultimately helping me to accomplish my objective to positively influence the Hispanic and Latino community through strategic Marketing approaches.

Throughout my educational journey, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while continually seeking out new learning opportunities that align with my career vision. My fascination with the world of marketing lies in the way it intertwines creativity, strategic planning, and an understanding of human behavior. It is a field that allows me to marry my love of problem-solving with my inherent eagerness to connect with people, fostering both societal and economic growth.

As a Hispanic and White individual, I have witnessed firsthand the underrepresentation of the Hispanic and Latino community in the marketing field. This observation has kindled my interest in using my studies and future career to help bridge this gap and ensure that our voices and perspectives are included in broader societal narratives. Achieving diverse representation in marketing is not only a moral necessity but also a pathway to innovation, better business decisions, and a more inclusive society.

My aspiration doesn't stop at representation. Furthermore, I'm passionate about mentoring and guiding the next generation of Hispanic and Latino students, coaching them on career opportunities and empowering them to follow their dreams.

The financial assistance would relieve some of the burdens that come with post-secondary education, allowing me to primarily focus on my academics, stay involved in the community, and strive to make positive changes.
