25 years from now.... by Eseta - September 2018 Scholarship Essay

25 years from now I see myself with many things going on. I will probably be married with kids. I will still be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will probably have a leading role in my church. I’m also probably gonna be working for my family. I will also be taking care of my mom and dad. The future I have is probably gonna be like my moms. My mom has a good job and has a good life. From my perspective it seems like she doesn’t struggle and that's how I want to be. The things that I want, comes from my mom.

When I’m married I will learn lots of things. Things like preparing stuff my family needs the night before so that it would be easier the next morning. Helping my kids getting to places they need or helping them with their homework. I feel like I would continue to learn because if I make mistakes with the things going on with my family I would learn from them. Such as making the wrong choices, my kids making the wrong choices, or us just falling apart in general. As the days go on I would continue to learn.

Having a role in church is like having a job, but your not getting paid. You have responsibilities that you need to handle. As me being a young women and the things that I do right now, I really wanna become a young women president in my church in 25 years. I would teach the girls the things I learn right now and the mistakes I do right now. I would be continuing to learn about the gospel and keep learning things that I haven’t by reading “The Book of Mormon” over and over”.

Taking care of my parents is something that my parents do right now. I wanna be able to take care of my mom like she does for my grandma. My mom is a really big role model to me. I want to become just like her, but not as strict. My mom has a good job with taking care of old people. She gets paid a lot. She doesn’t seem to struggle as much and that’s how I want to be. In 25 years from now, I will be continuing to learn from her. In the future I see her living with me and her teaching me how to do things. Every time I make mistakes she’ll be there to correct me. I hope to be like her in 25 years.

In essence, all of these things will help me continue to learn throughout my life. From all the little things to the big things. Such as the little things I do for my family like chores, taking kids to school and so on. Big things such as taking care of my parents, making mistakes so that their able to teach me things that I do wrong. It would teach me a lot because all through your life, your constantly learning things everyday.
