The Best Advice by Emily - May 2014 Scholarship Essay
The best advice I have ever received concerning education is, "focus on school, and your future". For me, this advice was key to my success in school and throughout my life. This has been the most helpful because it has been a constant reminder of what I have to look forward too, and the life that I could have if I just work for it. This has also taught me patience, organization and perseverance. I have learned these by keeping all of my schooling in order, and my grades up to the standard that I have set for myself. This advice has helped me to prioritize, and schedule the activities outside of school, as well as the school related activities. Thus making my priority my grades and volunteer work. The constant reminder of this advice has helped me to start to think and realize what I want my future to look like and what direction I want to be taking in my life. While in high school this advice has been an encouragement to continue, to stay determined, and to remember how important these years are to the rest of my life.
I believe that this could possibly be the best advice I have received concerning my education. This is because many times we receive advice and we do not heed it, however in this case I had the knowledge and maturity to do so. Which helped me tremendously in the ways of life, as well as in my education. Also in understanding why there is such a pressure and push for high school students to do their best and exceed in the things that they do best. I have a better perception of these things and many other things concerning adults and their advice and warnings. I believe that this advice will stay with me throughout my life, as well as be passed down onto my children.
