California by Elijah - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

My name is Elijah Harrison, and I am currently a senior at River Valley High School in Northern California. I am proud of the grades I earn and seek to further my learning and education. My main focus is in physics, mathematics and music.
One of the New Year's Resolutions I decided to make this year was to be diligent and put all my focus on getting education and employment. I made this goal because, with college right around the corner, the desire for learning and getting a quality education would spark my curiosity, maximize interest in my classes and increase the amount of work I will do--between my classes and my job. Ultimately, this goal to be more diligent and be a hard worker seems quite foolproof and rides along a virtuous cycle carrying me upward as I make my life.
More about me: I aspire to further myself intellectually and prepare for a career in the future, and I intend to get an education in order to help myself do so. My favorite subjects in school are math and physics, and my most passionate hobbies are Music and Photography. My strongest suits are problem-solving, attention to detail and precision in the work I am given; I am also very proud to say that I am very good at fast-paced routine work. My plan is to go to college, serve a religious mission and prepare for a career in the technology field, specifically in Electrical Engineering or troubleshooting.
I can’t wait to go to college so I can learn and develop myself intellectually and develop my skills. My New Year’s resolution is to improve my diligence and work ethic, essentially effectuating my maturity. I intend to be persistent in bringing about my goals, and in pursuing this, I will take a running jump into the next step in my life.
