What is a leader? by Daniel - March 2015 Scholarship Essay
A leader is defined as a person that commands a group, organization or a country. In order to be successful, people sometimes say that you need leadership skills. The ability that you need that will be most important in college is how to talk. A leader is where many people look up to you for motivation. A leader is not a follower.
Throughout history, there have been people with the ability to persuade many other people to believe in them. A person that defines what a leader is, Martin Luther King Jr. The speech that he made is still read in today’s world because of the impact it made during the 1960s. It shows how powerful this man could talk and how the nation reacted to it.
A leader in college is to help people, get good grades and just be independent. By helping other people out with problems, you will stand out from others. Many other students will start doing similar things. A leader importantly gets good grades to reach the goal. It symbolizes that you will work really hard to reach the point where you are satisfied. Ultimately, a leader must always be independent. He always must do what only he wants. In order to accomplish your goals, you must be different, must not be a follower and just be yourself.
