The Year 2025 by Courtney - December 2015 Scholarship Essay
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to open my own restaurant. I absolutely love cooking, and feel that I have at least some talent for it. I'm always creating something new in the kitchen, and rarely even bother to look at recipes. Since graduating high school I have worked in several restaurants to gain experience in the industry so that I will have plenty of background knowledge if I do achieve my dream of opening a restaurant.
I am currently enrolled at a community college and am planning to transfer to a university in fall of 2016. I intend to pursue a bachelors degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship and marketing. I feel that this degree will give me all of the remaining necessary skills I need to have my own restaurant that I have not yet learned. I believe that the key to having a successful restaurant is to understand all of the different aspects of the business.
My restaurant will make the world a better place for future generations because I plan to serve only the freshest and most natural food I can find. It seems that these days it is so hard to find a restaurant that is not serving overly processed food. There are plenty of people who either cannot cook or just do not have the time to do so, and I want to provide the option of wholesome food for these sorts of people. I believe that as more restaurants that offer real food appear, restaurants serving overly processed foods will begin to disappear, or change the way their food is made to stay in business.
