Associated Student Body for everyone by Courtney - January 2023 Scholarship Essay

The Associated Student Body or ASB for short is an elective in most schools. In my school you simply can’t just put it down as a requested elective like dance and get it in your next semester classes. You have to be recommended first by a teacher. You then must apply. I was then interviewed. After the interview you have to be accepted.
I believe they do this process because they want someone who is going to put extra effort into this class. I believe everybody has this capability in them. I also believe a class like this will bring more pride into each and every student who participates in this class. What people do not realize are all the things the ASB does for the school and the kids in them. It allows students to have a voice in what goes in on their school.
The ASB elective group is what plans the future events for the schools. ASB helps with fundraising for the many events the school will be having that year. Everything thing from senior parking spot bidding (my favorite), prom, senior breakfast, organize cheering sections during sporting events to include football, basketball & volleyball. ASB brings the school community together and camaraderie among the students.
