Storytelling has always been something I loved. It has been something I’ve done since I was little. Whether I was writing a story about a magical egg in the Amazon or making fake interviews with my brother on a camcorder, I was constantly telling stories. Filmmaking combines many different aspects of storytelling telling, which is what I like about it. You can create a whole new world while writing the script, convey emotions with music you would be unable to otherwise, and change the narrative of a scene simply by positioning the camera in a different way. There are so many different avenues to tell a story with filmmaking, which is why I want to be a film production major: to tell a story.
I'm not exactly sure what my dream job is, but I know it's in the film industry. Going to college will allow me to learn all the different areas of filmmaking while learning from the best, which will help me decide what specifically I want to do. Whether that be a cinematographer, an editor, or a director, going to college will help me be the very best at it that I can be and succeed in the film industry.
