Speed Bump in Study by Cody - April 2019 Scholarship Essay

We have all had a hard time with a class or classes at one point in time. I bet you can think of a class that could absolutely derail your day. I know I had a class my sophomore year of high school called pre-ap chemistry. It was my second period of the day and the teacher was also a college professor and she moved like a NASCAR driver through course work. It was so hard for me to get notes or even comprehend these chemicals she was spitting out. We would go through a whole unit and a lab in about two weeks and she would never have tutor times because she was part time.
I got past the first semester just by the skin on my arm with an average grade of 78. I remember actually failing at one point because I failed the previous test. When the next semester came around it was time for a change. I was determined to not be running around trying to pass. I sat right in the front of the class and asked at least four questions every class plus the others from my peers. During my lunch time I started going in there and eating with her while doing my homework and asking questions about it. When we did labs I was always involved with my partners. At the end of the second semester I had an 84 and I was able to be exempt from the final.
