Do you believe that attending college is important? Why or why not? by Christopher - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
Attending college is very important to anyone who wants to have a successful future. College provides you with the correct knowledge and tools in any major or field of work, helps you develop relationships and collaborate with others which helps in the long term, and you learn how to become an independent person
College is a great opportunity to continue your career in whatever field you want to study or major in. Don't know what to major in? Attending college gives you a wide variety of different courses to take that will help you determine the right major to study. Taking these different courses will help figure out which one you fit in and which one makes you feel comfortable to make a long term career in it. Having that feeling of comfort and knowing that you are great at something is wonderful and college will prepare you for that. That will get you a greater chance of getting a job after college that will provide you with money, which is something we would all like to live a great life.
There are two 2 aspects when going to college. One is all the academics and studies you have to go through. The other is your social life and how you collaborate with the people around you. In life having relationships is very important. Whether it's a relationship within your job or friends you have to be able to communicate well with them. College will help you prepare for that when the time comes around to graduate. It also helps you figure out who you really are as a human being on this earth. You realize which types of people you seem comfortable with, whether that's with a specific type of people with the same interest or if possible you are comfortable with everyone.
Moving into college is where you learn to become an independent person. It's time where you move on from your parents or guardians and you start to take initiative for your actions. Some of us have been going through this before college but for others it just the start. We have to decide when we do work and have time to have fun with friends. We don't have our parents to tell us when to do things. It's where you see if you could handle yourself and beware of your actions to let yourself go into bad situations. We have to decide what's best for future success and that all starts in college.
