The Forever Changing World of Anatomy by Chassidy - October 2016 Scholarship Essay
If I were a teacher instead of a student, I would want to be an anatomy and physiology teacher. Along with the fact that I enjoy the medical sciences, I would want to be an anatomy and physiology teacher because the human body works in fascinating ways, there are so many systems that I could switch what I taught every year to keep things fresh, and the human body is so intricate that even as a teacher, I would be able to learn new things about how the body functions every day.
The human body has so many systems, functions, cycles, parts, regions, tissues, bones, and more that the extent of knowledge that I would be able to teach my students would be never ending. Discoveries over the human body are being made every day, and human anatomy and physiology is constantly changing with the new technology that allows us to view the human body in a different light.
As an anatomy and physiology teacher, I would have so much material to work with that I would be able to add new systems in every year as I pleased and still be able to teach my students the proper amount of material that they will need to prepare them for college anatomy and physiology. There is so much knowledge that we know over the human body that I would never become bored with teaching the same thing, because I can teach on different aspects of the human body from year to year.
Another thing that I would enjoy from being an anatomy and physiology teacher is being able to learn new things over my subject every day. Although I will be teaching the subject, I will not be a complete expert on all of anatomy because of the many new discoveries that I will be able to keep up with and learn about during my years as a teacher.
Although becoming a teacher is not something that I plan to do with my life, I think that the complexity of the human body would make being an anatomy and physiology teacher an interesting job to have behind a field that will forever be changing.
