My Dream, My Goals by Ceely - February 2019 Scholarship Essay

I have had one single dream ever since I was a fifth grader, to change the world- one smile at a time! Since I was a little toddler sitting in the dental chair for my first time, I have loved having clean, strong, and healthy teeth, and I also pay very close attention to other people’s teeth too. Seeing just one mouth full of bright white, straight, and healthy teeth makes me want to be the orthodontist that can help everyone achieve that in their life. This goal has driven me in my schooling and will do so until I am the doctor I want to be!
I have taken school very seriously and put it as a top priority in my life because I want to accomplish my near-life-long goal. During my high school career, I have taken multiple years of Latin and health career courses, biology and chemistry science classes, and advanced placement college classes in chemistry and anatomy. I chose these classes to expand my knowledge of the human body, medical careers/ terminology, and the science classes I will soon be taking in college. So far, the work I have been putting in to reach my goals has brought me a long way and I will continue on this path so that it will carry me through my many years that I will be in college. When I attend college, I will be going to the University of North Dakota to receive my four year bachelor’s degree in biology and/ or chemistry, then I hope to be accepted into the University of Minnesota’s dental program where I will continue on another four years of schooling, my last step would include taking part in a two to three year residency to become the orthodontist that I want to be! My hard work, passion, and determination will get me to my end goal, I am extremely happy and lucky that I get a chance to take this opportunity to accomplish my dreams and my goals.
