Appreciation for College Experience by Caroline - November 2016 Scholarship Essay
The college experience I will be most thankful for is the opportunity to better myself through education, forming relationships, and experience with the real world and how people relate with one another.
Education is the most important part of college, but it can be very challenging. I feel that I will be very thankful for the way that classes will push me to be a better student, and that they will teach me how to manage my time and priorities. Once I graduate from college, I will be grateful that I have had the ability to gain a very strong education, so that I will have the chance to start a career that I love. People living in today’s society don’t realize how lucky we are to have the opportunity of going to college, and obtaining a quality education.
College is one of the best places to form strong relationships that will last far beyond just four years. Not only will you gain friendships among peers, but also have the chance to get close with your professors, and even faculty and staff if willing. I feel that the most important aspect in living the college life to its fullest is choosing good people to surround yourself with, for these relationships are what help make college one of the best experiences of your life. College gives you a place to meet the best people that may be like you, but may not be like you at all. Personally, I think these people will make a big impact on my life, and that I will greatly appreciate the friendships made throughout our college years.
Experiences you gain from college combine both relationships and education. I will be most thankful for the moments I am able to experience in college with the people who I love, and who have the same interests as me, so we can enjoy them together. Whether experiences come from education, internships, extracurricular, or recreational, each and every one will have better prepared us for the real worlds outside of college, and we will be thankful that we came in contact with those situations, good or bad.
Overall, I am very grateful to be able to go to a college of my choice, and attain a quality education to better myself for my future. I truly believe that going through college experiences will have so many different impacts on my life, and will prepare me for the real world outside of school. I feel that each and every person should go through college just to see what it’s like and how much of a difference it can make in one’s life. I am very thankful for many things, and a college experience is just one of them.
