Empowerment of Learning by Bryan - September 2018 Scholarship Essay
In 25 years, I am hoping to be a successful model to my family and to others as well. Although many consider finishing college the "end" of your education, there are always many things that you can learn throughout life or through others as well. Just being around others and being observant of your surroundings you can learn on what to do and what not to do. To me, there is no such thing as finishing education. Society around is different and various interests that others have. I want to be able to explore different parts around the whole world. The different varieties of cultures and foods interest me and I hope to explore.
Being a first generation college student can be difficult for many. You can't really ask anyone in your family for help or guidance and mostly need to figure everything out on your own most of the time. I see myself overcoming any obstacle that will hinder my path to success. The thought of wanting to be a great person in the eyes of my family is what drives me. I want to be able to make them proud and hopefully influence the decisions of my younger siblings. In 25 years I see myself helping others in my environment and exploring many different areas in the world. I do not want to be accustomed to my hometown. I want to explore different things.
