His Plan by Brandi - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
My senior quote would most definitely be incomplete without a Bible verse. To be exact, I would use Jeremiah 29:11 that states ‘“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”’ (NIV). Not only does this represent my faith, but it also represents the goals that I have for myself. Yes I know what it is that I will be majoring in once I get to college, however, I do not know how the rest of my life will plan out. Because I am a believer in Christ, I believe that it is okay not to have everything figured out because God will help us to do so. God having a plan for my life as well as having my back when things go wrong is the reason that this verse speaks volumes in my life.
Because it is true that not everyone always has everything together in their life, I find it easy to believe that everyone can get through their tough situation. This is the same for me as well. Jeremiah 29:11 is a great reminder for me to push through whatever trials or tribulations that I could face. For it is trials and tribulations that ultimately help people to grow up to be the amazing adults that they were created to be. It is also a great reminder that nothing worth having is easy. Every ounce of extra work that I put into my studies as well as extracurricular activities is worth the time and energy. It is because of the dedication that I continually show in everything that I do, as well as the involvement that God has within my life that I am certain everything will work out for me in the long run.
Altogether, I believe that Jeremiah 29:11 is a testament to my faith as well as the way that I live my everyday life. It is easy to say that getting through a tough situation will be easy for someone who knows that everything will be alright, however, from my experience, when things go wrong, it is simply difficult to remember. This is because, for most people, it may look like life is going in the direction that they envisioned, but instead, it goes in a completely opposite way. Of course for anyone, that would be a hard thing to deal with. However, to be able to remember that not only does everything happen for a reason, everything that happens in return brings strength and wisdom to the person that it happens to. In the end, because I know that through my struggle brings victory, I am excited for the next chapter of my life. No matter the situation, I am positive that I will be alright because God has my side.
